Helen's spiritual journey began when she found herself on a plane to India voluntarily spending time with the living master Babaji. After that trip, her level of awareness, connectedness, and spirituality changed. She combined these insights and the healing teachings of Reiki to create the Institute of Self Awareness.

Larry Borth is a Reiki Master and co-founder of the Institute Of Self Awareness in Milwaukee Wi. Because Larry saw auras from a very early age Larry started his mother's search into higher consciousness, auras, personal energy, metaphysics and Reiki. Together they explored new age teachings for over 50 years.
Larry and Helen found simple truths in Reiki and Self-awarness to be their center. Now Larry incorporates this awareness and his vision of auric energy into teaching all levels of Reiki.

As one of the co-founders of the Institute of Self Awareness, I have experienced many life changes through 30 years of Reiki practice and consciousness studies.
In 1980 I received my 1st degree Reiki from Barbra McCullough. My 2nd degree was received a year later from Helen Borth, the first Reiki Master in Wisconsin.
After many years of studies and working with Helen I was impressed to receive a master's level in Reiki.
I continue to teach others through Reiki classes, Private and group Consciouness classes, and Reiki treatments.
Deondre lewis

Deondre was guided to his Reiki teacher, Helen Borth, because of his sensitivity to energy. At that time, Deondre struggled to function in the 3rd dimension, but through Helen's guidance, Deondre was able to hone his sensitivity to energy while still staying present and functioning in the 3rd dimension.
Deondre trained for Reiki Level I with Helen in September of 2013, and studied Level II in February of 2014. He received his Reiki mastership in March of 2015.
Deondre is proud to have studied under Helen for 5 years and is excited to train the next generation of lightworkers.
